It is hard to plan a trip all by ourselves, however nobody said it would be something impossible to do. If there is the opportunity one must go for it. My long life dream has been to travel to Japan someday, not only because of their advances in technology for animation production, but also because of their culture. 

One thing that always has caught my attention is the amazing scenery that there is to find around Japan, not only in Tokyo but in other places as well. The temples and shrines in Kyoto are really beautiful.

.:Movie Review: Breaking Dawn (The Twilight Saga):.

Certainly like most of the Twilighters around the world, I've got to admit that I was quite excited for the new movie release. I have read the whole SAGA for like six times already, so my expectations for the movie adaptation were a little higher than usual. Ever since the movie theaters started broadcasting it here in the US I've been meaning to watch it. Finally after waiting so much I was able to go and see it with my mother while I was in Miami during Thanksgiving vacation.

Even though my mom and I enjoyed watching the movie, and that it remained loyal to the novel itself, I believed it was too bloody to the extreme of being seen as something gory. To be honest yes I have to admit that even though the movie was loyal to the book, there was much left out and it seemed too artificial for my taste.

Nonetheless there was something special in this movie that the rest of the previous Twilight Saga movies didn't have, and that was the fact that the director decided to emphasize more on Edward and Bella's relationship interactivity than just what were their thoughts. It was something sweet and totally unexpected since the books and the other movies the only thing that mattered where Bella's thoughts and nothing else.

Jet Ski is one of the extreme sports I enjoy practicing the most, this is because when you are driving the jet ski you feel like you can go anywhere, you get to be one with the wind and you are able to enjoy pure awesomeness. Is not a difficult sport to practice the only requirements for it is to know how to drive and to be of age meaning 18+.

Of course the equipment that is needed to perform this sport is the Jet Ski bike, a life jacket (sunglasses and water shoes optional) however if it is practiced during the morning is is highly advised to wear a lot of sunscreen.People who often take on this sport are those who seek to experience a good dose of adrenaline and are somewhat of a risk reducer/opportunist.

The estimated price per Jet Skiing bike is about $5000 it varies depending on the model or brand aside the supplementary equipment such as the life vest and the gloves. 

The risks of practicing Jet Skiing is that there is a probability of collision of the water bike against yachts or boats passing by which in other words means risking the Jet Ski's driver as well as other people's lives, another risk is drowning or going to too deep places in the river or ocean due to the fact that the bike works on oil and of course there is the risk of having problems with the Jet Ski's motor functionality.

I have tried to practice this sport back on my country and I absolutely love it, it is as I explained before one of my favorite spots to practice and I am glad I'm old enough to be able to do so.

Clean Up The World is a partnership environmental organization with the UNEP *United Nations Environmental Program* that focuses on the environment's welfare and inspire people worldwide to take care of the environment and keep it clean by reducing, recycling and reusing things to conserve the environment. They are present in more than 130 Countries. They get involved in activities such as:

• Recycling and resource recovery
• Tree planting
• Education campaigns
• Water reuse and conservation
• Competitions
• Exhibitions
• Fix up projects

This organization is associated with the United Nations Department of Public Information.

Each year with their campaign Our Place…Our Planet…Our Responsibility they promote and invite people to volunteer on their outgoing activities which most of them are to

"improve the environment in your place could include planting trees, cleaning parks or beaches, conserving water or undertaking environmental awareness raising or education initiatives" as the Organization's website states.  

Natural Disasters- Flood in Thailand

There has been several natural disasters this year, form hurricanes to massive earthquakes, tsunamis and now even floods. Mother Nature seems to finally be charging the bills from all the damage we have caused to our only home. I even wonder...will our kind really cease to exist in the near future?

It's sad to hear that many countries worldwide are being affected by natural disasters nowadays, not only North America but also South America, Asia and Europe too.

The most recent disaster going out right now is the massive flood affecting Thailand and it's main capital Bangkok. Many people are suffering from this outcome, most of them have lost their houses others have had to move away. The flood keeps extending throughout all the city. According to the BBC News: "Water is now creeping into northern parts of the city but central areas remain unaffected" and also saying that in "North Bangkok, flooding remain severe in the provinces of Pathum Thani and Ayutthaya."

Everything For Power!

In Orwell's novel "Animal Farm" one of the main themes is the manipulation of language to persuade and obtain means of power. This is the most important means by which the pigs begin to take advantage of the rest of animals in the farm. The pigs take on the leadership of Animal Farm since they are considered the most skilled in terms of intelligence than any other animal. By the play on words, they are able to fool everybody on the farm, promising them a better way of living without constraints or being forced to work, in other words they are 'granted' freedom.

The first way they do this is by the creation of the Seven Commandments in which they state that every animal is equal, that every four legged and winged animal is a friend and that no animal should do what humans do. However this changes little by little as the pigs distort the commandments and as the revolution takes shape. The animals are often played off with the word of 'equality', the pigs refer of it so everybody rejoices in the same rights but what they do is actually referring themselves as equal to humans in every possible way. They impose the rule that no animal should sleep on a bed or drink alcohol so no animal does, but when the pigs take over Mr. Jones' house, they do sleep in beds and they do drink beer. Also when they say that no animal should wear anything nobody does that either, yet later on they end up giving honor medallions which the awarded animals are allowed to wear Therefore the animals themselves are fooled with the pigs definition of equality which is more for the pigs own gain and comfort than for the well being of the animals.

The windmill symbolizes how the pigs abuse Boxer and the other animals that work on the farm, believing it is all for their own good. As for the barn, it is where they can manipulate the animals through the Seven Commandments that where written there. It symbolizes the vision of the pigs that cannot be broken because the others will accept it without complaint. As the pigs  act for their own convenience, they know what triggers to pull in order to get the things the way they want. They prove themselves as being equals as humans and even better than them, causing oppression over others and over exploiting them so that they can create that perfect society where they are the only rulers.

No Sweat Foundation is a non-profit organization that fights against labour abuse and exploitment. The main goal of the organization is to be able to stand up for workers'wellfare and asure them a well living wage as good working conditions. Also they fight against child labour, harrasment of woman workers, poor wages, unsafe working conditions and work overload.

On the foundation's website we are able to look up and read about the different cases of this nature that big companies such as Nike, Disney or McDonalds (as well as other known companies and smaller ones too) have faced in the past.

A Little Bird Told Me...

Dear little girl,

Welcome to this beautiful world, with so much to offer. Here you will make your first steps towards your own future. It is incredible how you have become the 7th billion person to come to us and how the place we live in has changed so much. You might be too young to understand what is happening around you, but there are some things that might scare you or some things that might surprise you, thus making you worry about your future. I just want to let you know this, because I think that even though this isn't much...I know you'll be able to over come these changes and move onwards to a better living.

World Wildlife Fund and Greenpeace

Nature is our most prized possession above everything else, regardless of monetary or other material possessions that we as human beings might have. You might wonder why am I saying this? Well...you see the answer is simple, nature is what keep us alive, what give us resources for our daily living, what lets us coexist between species and what gives life to our Planet Earth.

I wonder why do we tend to be destructive towards it, when it has given us so much? Why all that hatred? All this impact on nature is because of our actions, due to our desperation to satisfy our growing needs. Yes, nobody denies that this is a way in which we can assure our survival but...we are not noticing that this is causing heavy damage to future generations, the environment and the animals that live among us.

This is why there are organizations like Greenpeace and World Wildlife Fund who fight for nature and its wildlife so that none of this is lost forever in the future. Greenpeace is a non-profitable organization that acts to protect the environment and the welfare of every single person in the world. It functions internationally yet they began in a small boat with a small group of people sailing all the way from Vancouver, Canada to US to save Amchitka an island ecosystem in the coast of Alaska, where at last they decided to establish and fund Greenpeace They accomplish their goals by relying on donations organizing campaigns and letting people know what is happening to our environment.

On the other side World Wildlife Fund or WWF as we know it they protect the future of nature and the organisms within. Their mission is "to conserve nature and reduce the most pressing threats to the diversity of life on Earth. " They functions on 100 different countries through donations and just like Greenpeace it is a non-profitable organization. They work the same way as Greenpeace, focusing on campaigns to promote awarness and they take action to find a solution to the ongoing problem.

I believe that both organizations do their best on protecting the environment and nature to assure a better and healthier future for all of us. They definitely have a bright future upon them since there are many people who are becoming aware and want to support them and become part of the solution.

How about a Rock/Empire Building?

As part of an investigation assignment for class, we had to research about any amazing infraestructural buildings around the world that has caught our attention. I decided to talk about the Rockefeller Center and the Empire State Building both from NYC, the reason behind this choice was given since I recently had the opportunity to go and visit both places.



First off, I will talk about the Empire State Building. It was built in 1929 by the Architects Shreve, Lamb and Harmon. The day of completion of it was 1931. The budget for building it was about $40,948,900! It consists of 103 floors and 87 elevators and its average height taking into account the Observatory and the Broadcast Tower peak is about 3956 sq ft.

It weighs about 365,000 tons and it has a total of 1,872 steps all the way to the 103th floor.It is used as an office building now a days.

Now I'll tell you about the Rockefeller Center, it was constructed by Raymond Hood in 1939. Initially it was going to be used as an Opera house for the Metropolitan Opera. The Rock Center is composed of 19 buildings of which 8 are the main ones.
